Shot Portfolio

We've been learning about different camera shots in mass communications and I made a new video!

When filming and editing, I encountered a LOT of issues. The video was originally  meant to feature my cat, but I had to use my dog as the subject instead, because my cat was crabby that day. When editing, it took a long time to upload all my shots. The file type didn't work with my computer, so I ended up using the Youtube editor instead. This worked great, until I had to use it on Safari. The editor works much better on Chrome. With all this frustration, I finally just said, "Good enough," and moved on. So here's the final product...

Tell A Story

I told a story in a radio show-like format for my Mass Communications class. We've been listening to radio shows and learning how they're set up. Here's my twist on the story telling format used!

Blogging/Media Production "Tips"

I really like how the guy in the video doesn't stress an immediate theme for new bloggers. I'm not a big fan of choosing a topic right away, because I feel like I'll end up hating it. He thought it was a good idea to start with an idea with an initial post and take it from there. I'll probably end up doing this, because I'm so scared of hastily committing to a topic I'll end up hating.

I also found it helpful that he emphasized the importance of making a blog personal. Blogs are a place for people's voices to be heard, so having a clear personality shown in the writing makes it more fun. This helps the reader and writer enjoy their blogging experience more. I don't read blogs much, but when they're funny, they're enjoyable. In order to do this, a clear voice from the blogger must be heard.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I'm making this for a Mass Communications class.

I haven't had much experience with using blogging sites. The only other time I've "blogged" was when I had to create an Introduction to Media blog for another class. I'm still getting used to the new set up of Blogger, since that class required a Tumblr account.

Apparently I set up a blogger account around four years ago for another class, because I stumbled upon it while creating the new one. Sadly, I didn't post anything about my 8th grade self, but I found an embarrassing bio about my former persona (which was very poorly written). I quickly deleted it... hopefully for good.
